My name is Ryosei and Tapout Digital is a project to help more people start training BJJ.
Tapout Digital does this in two ways:
- Make it simple for gym owners to attract and run a successful BJJ academy by providing them with the tools necessary to run their business.
- Making it easier for people who want to start training BJJ find a suitable gym for them with projects like the BJJ Gym Finder.
My BJJ History
I started training BJJ in New Zealand with Gracie Barra and quickly caught the jiu jitsu bug. I started competing straight away and won the NZ Nationals at white belt with a month of BJJ training under my belt.
I didn’t start BJJ with the intention of competing, but after the first competition I was hooked and signed up to every competition I could.
Which wasn’t to many back in those days and ended up mixing it with some sports jiu jitsu tournaments as well.
After nearly a decade in the sport I have trained in Japan under Mitsuyoshi Hayakawa at Tri-Force, a few months in Brazil at Alliance Rio, a few months in London at Roger Gracie HQ and since 2016 at Mathouse Under Dominik Dębiec.
Online Marketing Experience
During my time training in Japan, I was looking for ways to promote myself to earn extra income to support my BJJ addiction and this led me to finding the world of online marketing.
This became my second passion and started consuming every podcast I could on the matter learning about web development, SEO, PPC, Python, HTML/CSS, social media marketing, SEM and everything else in between.
After coming to the UK I started working in the online marketing industry and successfully grew websites from less than a hundred pounds in revenue a month to 7 sevenfigure companies in less than two years.
Why Tapout Digital
To combine my love of building successful online business and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to help gym owners focus on doing what they do best – BJJ rather than SEO/PPC and all other technical side maintaining an online presence.
